Young midfielder goes out on loan
Midfielder Will Bor has joined Staines Town on a one-month loan deal to gain first-team experience.
The 18-year-old will once again link-up with his former reserve team manager Marcus Gayle, who is now in charge at the Blue Square South club. Marcus already has our former goalkeeper Jack Turner and ex-Wimbledon reserves striker Louie Theophanous at Wheatsheaf Park and Will could be included in the squad to face league leaders Salisbury City tomorrow.
Will, who played for our first-team in London Senior Cup and Surrey Senior Cup matches last season, has featured in AFC Wimbledon development matches this season. However, Academy Manager, Mark Robinson, believes a loan spell at Staines Town is just what Will needs at this stage of his career.
“Will has a tremendous attitude and a great work ethic,” said Mark. “He knows exactly what he needs to work on in his game and gaining first-team experience at that level will be beneficial for his development as a player.”
Meanwhile, we wish to confirm that defender Angus MacDonald was recently recalled by Reading after a loan spell with the Dons.
