Scunthorpe captain joins on loan
We can confirm that the Dons have bolstered their midfield options by signing Scunthorpe United captain Michael Collins on loan until the end of this season.
The 27-year-old (pictured above) has played in the Football League for almost a decade since coming through the ranks at Huddersfield Town and making his first-team debut in 2004.
Michael, who was capped at Republic of Ireland Under-21 level, moved to Scunthorpe United in 2010 when The Iron were playing Championship football and last summer he was appointed as club captain.
Though Michael played in Scunthorpe’s 3-2 defeat against the Dons in August, an ankle injury suffered in that match interrupted his season and he has been restricted to substitute appearances recently.
We will have more about Michael’s signature on the official website later on today.
