Beast Mode on for auction

15 December 2014

Bid for lots including a chance to work-out with Bayo

An opportunity to work-out with Bayo Akinfenwa and fantastic Wimbledon memorabilia from the 1988 FA Cup triumph are up for grabs in our 2014 Dons Trust Auction.

The image above shows Bayo and George Francomb celebrating the winner at Milton Keynes in the JPT (lot 16) and many of the other items are in our gallery. Dons Trust fundraisers Ray Armfield and Paul Jeater have put together a fantastic collection for this auction, which comes at perfect timing for Christmas.

We have plenty of coveted mementoes from Wimbledon’s rich history, including a captain’s armband from 1988, signed by Dave Beasant. However, this auction comes into its own with two prizes offering unique behind-the-scenes access at AFC Wimbledon. A successful bid for lot one entitles you to join the 2014/15 squad for an away trip and lot two is an hour-long gym session with “The Beast” as your personal trainer.

Online bidding ends at midnight on Friday, but there will be a chance to also bid for items before Saturday’s Mansfield match in the back bar. If you wish to bid for an item, simply write your bid plus contact details on the form by that item – and if your bid is the highest when the auction closes at 2.30pm today, you’ll have won!

Silent auctions have raised nearly £30,000 for the Dons Trust since their inception. To e-mail your bid online, send the item you wish to bid for and your personal details, including a contact number torayarmfield@aol.com.

The organising team wishes to thank Ivor Heller and the commercial department, along with David McKnight, Sports Interactive, Peter Armfield and Bayo Akinfenwa for their help in putting the collection together.
